4 POS and CPOS interface configuration

The system view appears.

Step 2 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The synchronous serial interface view appears.

Step 3 Run:

link-protocol { ppp | fr | hdlc | lapb | x.25 | sdlc }

The command configures the link layer protocol.

By default, the synchronous serial interface uses PPP as the link layer protocol.

OQ NOTE

Only the synchronous interface channelized by the CPOS interface of the RTP1CPE1 and RTP1CPT1
interface cards supports the PPP and the HDLC protocols.

4.5.4 Configuring hold-interval of the link layer protocol for
synchronous serial interface

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1 Run

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The synchronous serial interface view appears.

Step 3 Run:

timer hold hold-interval

The command configures the hold-interval of the link layer protocol.

The two ends on the link send the timer hold packets to detect and maintain the
interconnection of the link.

By default, the

hold-interval

of the link layer protocol is 10 seconds. If the

hold-interval

is

configured as 0, it indicates that the hold packets are no longer sent or detected.
