8.10 Configuring frame relay IP header compression

8.10.1 Establishing the configuration task

Applicable environment

The FR feature provides the IP header compression (IPHC) function, including the

compression of RTP/TCP header. You can specify the RTP header compression on the

interface or specify the TCP/IP header compression when you configure the static address

mapping.

FR P2P sub-interfaces do not support FR IPHC.

Preconfiguration tasks

Before configuring FR over an IP network and IPHC, complete the following tasks:

Configuring physical parameters for FR interfaces

Configuring FR interfaces

Data preparation

To configure IPHC, you need the following data.

No

Data

1

FR interface number of a router, IP addresses to be allocated and the VC number

2

Number of RTP compression connections or the number of TCP compression

connections
