SSF Installation

3.1

Overview

Please refer

Chapter 2, Prerequisites, on page 21

for the hardware and software requirements

for installing SSF.

SSF contains four types of packages:

SSF Core - It is a management and configuration interface between hardware and
software.

SSF GUI Agent - It is an application that interacts with the SSF to provide web interface for
accessing SSF managed system. Similar to SSF core, you can install SSF GUI agent on either
PrAMC-7311 or a connected PC with supported Linux distribution.

Blade SSF Core - It is SSF agent on supported blades, which are present in the system. Blade
SSF core establishes communication between SSF core and other blades installed in the
system. SSF interacts with the system components through blade SSF core. It also provides
access to the platform services, such as syslog-ng, ntpd, dhcpd, sshd, vsftpd
and a user defined service syslcu installed on the blades. You can also add your own
platform services that can be managed using SSF.

Application Agent - It is an interface between south-bound interface of SSF and north-
bound interface of application. It forwards all the requests from SSF Core to application
and vice versa.

The following table provides complete list of SSF RPMs. You can download these files from
SWORDS.
