PASSWORD

When you select this function (SUPERVISOR PASSWORD or USER PASSWORD) from the main
menu, a message explained below appears at the center of the screen: then enter the password.
Password distinguishes upper and lowercase characters and can have up to 8 characters.

ENTER PASSWORD:

Typing a password clears any previously entered password.
The following message appears next.

CONFIRM PASSWORD:

Again, type the password and press Enter.

To clear the password, simply press Enter when asked to enter a password. Then the password
function is disabled.

To abort the process at any time, press Esc.

Power On Self Test (POST)

Power On Self Test (POST) checks the system configuration and hardware while power is on. If
it detects any errors, it issues error messages and emits audible beeps. The following section
explains the error messages.

POST Messages

During the POST, the BIOS either sounds a beep code or displays a message when it detects a
correctable error. The following is a list of POST messages. An error message may be followed
by a prompt to press F1 to continue or press DEL to enter Setup

Beep

The only beep code indicates a video error has occurred and BIOS cannot
initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep
code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps.

CMOS BATTERY HAS FAILED

CMOS battery is no longer functional. It should be replaced.

CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR

Checksum of CMOS is incorrect.
This can indicate that CMOS has become corrupt.
This error may have been caused by a weak battery.
Check the battery and replace if necessary.
