Consumption of Ink
❏ To maintain optimum print head performance, some ink is consumed from all ink supply units not only during
printing but also during maintenance operations such as print head cleaning.
❏ When printing in monochrome or grayscale, color inks instead of black ink may be used depending on the
paper type or print quality settings. This is because a mixture of color inks is used to create black.
Replacing Ink Supply Units
1.
Open the ink case.
Note:
This procedure explains how to replace the black ink supply unit. To replace color ink supply units, open the ink case on
the other side of the printer. The replacement methods are the same.
2.
Push the handle on the ink supply unit that you want to replace.
The ink supply unit will pop out.
