Checking the
Printhead
If you notice the quality of the meter stamp is poor, you need to find out if
the problem is a bad printhead.
How To Check the Printhead
1.
Print a test pattern to check for a print quality problem. See direc-
tions for this procedure in this chapter.
2.
If the quality of the test pattern is poor and has broken lines, you
need to clean the printer nozzle (see illustration in How To Clean
Printer Nozzles in this chapter).
3.
Repeat the procedure of printing a test pattern.
4.
If you still have poor quality, repeat steps 1 through 3 above until
quality improves.
5.
If the test pattern does not improve after several attempts, replace
the printhead and wiper blade cartridge as explained in this chap-
ter.
