Ending a connection

To disconnect, do one of the following:

When connected via dial-up or VPN, tap the Connection icon,

, on

your navigation bar, and then tap Disconnect.

When connected via cable or cradle, detach your Toshiba Pocket PC
e830 from the cable or cradle.

When connected via Infrared, move your Toshiba Pocket PC e830
away from your PC or other IR-equipped device.

When connected via a network (Ethernet) card, remove the card from
your PC.

When connected via a wireless network, switch off the connection.

Connecting directly to an email server

You can set up a connection to an email server so that you can send and
receive email messages by using a modem or network connection and
Messaging on your Toshiba Pocket PC e830.

You can use multiple email accounts to receive your messages. For each
email account you intend to use, first set up and name the email account.
If you use the same account to connect to different mailboxes, set up and
name each mailbox connection.

Setting up an email account

In Messaging on your Toshiba Pocket PC e830, tap Accounts, and
then New Account. Follow the directions in the New Account wizard.

For an explanation of a screen, tap

and then Help. When finished, to

connect to your email server, tap Accounts and then Connect. For more
information on using the Messaging program, see "Messaging—Sending
and receiving email messages" on page 82.
