Alt WINS

Alternative Windows Internet Naming Service (Alt WINS) is used as a
substitute for the main WINS when necessary.

Configuring a Wireless LAN

Setting up a wireless network

Networks that you have already configured are preferred networks and
are listed in Wireless networks. You can select to connect to only pre-
ferred networks or have your Toshiba Pocket PC e830W search for and
connect to any available network whether it is preferred or not.
Tap Start, Settings, Connections, Network Cards, then the Wireless
tab. You can also launch this by tapping Start, Settings, System, then
Wireless Networks.

To change network settings within Wireless networks, tap a network. If
you do not see a desired network, tap Add new ... and follow the instruc-
tions on the screen.
From Networks to access, select All available, Only access points, or
Only computer-to-computer depending on the type of connected net-
work(s). To connect only to networks you have already configured, clear
the Automatically connect to non-preferred networks check box.
To change the network to connect in the preferred network, tap and hold a
network that you want to connect and select Connect.
