Accessing the Flash ROM Disk

The Flash ROM Disk contains the built-in storage for the Pocket PC.
Data, files, or programs can be stored on the Flash ROM Disk from the
following sources: File Explorer, Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Pocket Out-
look Notes, and DataBackup.
Data can be accessed on the Flash ROM Disk by using File Explorer.
1.

On the Start menu, tap Programs, and then File Explorer.

2.

Open the My Device folder, and then tap Flash ROM Disk.

To confirm the memory available on the Flash ROM Disk, do the following:
1.

On the Start menu, tap Settings, System tab, and then Memory.

2.

Tap the Storage Card tab, and then select Flash ROM Disk.

To store data from Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, or Pocket Outlook Notes,
open the application and do the following:
1.

Select a location for storage by tapping Tools, Options, and then
select either CF Card, SD Card, or Flash ROM Disk.

2.

Tap OK.

Data stored on the Flash ROM Disk are not backed up. See "Making a
backup" on page 176 for i
nformation on backing up data on the Flash
ROM Disk. Periodic backups of data stored on the Flash ROM Disk is rec-
ommended.

Adjusting speaker and headphone volumes

This program allows you to adjust the volume of the built-in speaker and
headphone speaker on your Toshiba Pocket PC e830. To adjust the sys-
tem volume, tap Start, Settings, Personal tab, Sounds and Notifica-
tions
.
1.

Tap Start and then Settings. On the System tab, tap Advanced
Sounds
.

2.

Select the Built-in tab and adjust the Volume of the built-in speaker.

When accessing the data on the Flash ROM Disk, DO
NOT turn off the power, reset, or initialize your Toshiba
Pocket PC e830.

To store attachments in Messaging of Pocket Outlook,
open the application and then Tools, Options, Storage
tab. Select Store attachments on storage card. This
stores the attachments on the Flash ROM Disk.
