NOTE:

If you are using PPRC, the storage system cannot distinguish pairs that you have split

(“Split/SUSPOP” status) from pairs that are in the process of being Quick Split (“V-Split/SUSPVS”
status).

Do one of the following to check the pair status:

From a command prompt, run the following command:

CSUSPEND

To Steady Split, specify MFS00 for the PRIM parameter. In this case, the pair is not in the
process of being Quick Split (“V-Split/SUSPVS” status).

Use the RWC.

For more information about the methods you can use to split pairs, see

“Pair splitting methods”

(page 49)

.

If you plan to Quick Restore the BC Z pair, you must first suspend the Cnt Ac-S Z pair.

You can perform a CG pair-split on BC Z pairs that share volumes with Cnt Ac-S Z S-VOLs.

For more information about CG pair-split for shared volumes, see

“Using consistency group

pair-split with shared volumes” (page 20)
