2. In the Select Primary Volumes window of the Create Pairs wizard, select the two LDEVs you
want to use as the P-VOLs and then click Next.
3. In the Select Secondary Volumes window of the Create Pairs wizard, complete the following
and then click Next:

In the Available LDEVs table, select the four LDEVs you want to use as the S-VOLs for the
pairs and click Set.
Four pairs are listed in the Selected Pairs table.
b. In the Selected Pairs table, remove the unwanted LDEV.
Two pairs are simultaneously created, one with two S-VOLs and the other with one S-VOL.
Suspending BC Z pair creation
Suspending a pair copies the entire P-VOL to the S-VOL. The S-VOL continues accepting write I/O
operations from the P-VOL and the P-VOL track is marked as differential data.
If you use RAID Manager to run commands, suspending the following command suspends the pair:
Add Pair (initial copy)
The XP7 storage system automatically suspends a pair in the following cases:
•
An error condition related to an update copy operation is detected.
•
It cannot keep the pair mirrored.
