In the tree, in the Pair Operations window, select the CU image where the volumes to be
S-VOLs are located.
Related volumes are shown in the volume list.

In the volume list, select the volumes that are the S-VOLs. Do not select reserved volumes.

Right-click your selections and select Add Pair.

In the Add Pair dialog box, verify that the desired S-VOLs are shown in the pair list. To remove
a volume, right-click and select Delete.

Select the S-VOL that you want to pair.

8.

In Copy Pace, select the pace at which data is to be copied, Slower, Medium, or Faster. System
performance is affected by the pace you select, less for Slower, more for Faster.

NOTE:

The copy pace you assign is always reflected to any pairs that you added earlier

and are still present in the Preview list. To maintain the copy pace given to the earlier pairs,
click Apply before adding new pairs with a different copy pace.

9.

Show the volumes available for T-VOLs by selecting the following filters from the Select T-VOL
box:

Select an LDKC (if selectable).

Select the appropriate CU image.

Select a Volume Type to show internal or external volumes. You can select both if desired.

Select an Attribute to show volumes previously reserved as T-VOLs, or volumes that are
not reserved. You can select both if desired.

10. Select the volume to be the T-VOL from the volume list in the Select T-VOL box.
11. Click Set. This places the volume as the T-VOL in the pair list.
12. Add a second or third T-VOL to the same S-VOL as desired.
13. If you need to change a T-VOL, highlight the pair then select the new volume in the T-VOL list

and click Change. The changed pair is shown in the pair list.

14. Click OK when finished creating pairs.
