SUSPEND example

Resynchronizing pairs with CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR

Resynchronize pairs using the CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR commands.

The commands are issued to the P-VOL.

The pair must be suspended (Split/SUSPOP or Suspend/SUSPER status).

Parameters and examples are provided in the following.

The following table describes the CESTPAIR command parameters used to resynchronize pairs.

These parameters must be used for successful
execution of the command.

Primary volume: SSID, serial number, channel
connection address, and CU number.

PRIM

You can set an additional parameter
corresponding to each request instead of a
serial number. If you do not set an additional
parameter, the request triggers a normal copy.

For a Quick Resync, set MRF00. This
parameter is valid for MODE(RESYNC) only.

For a Quick Restore, set MRQ00. This
parameter is valid for MODE(RESYNC) only.

For a Reverse Copy set MRR00. This parameter
is valid for MODE(RESYNC) only.

To resync all pairs in a consistency group, set
MAnn0 instead of a serial number. nn is a
CTG ID. The request triggers a normal resync
operations.

NA

Secondary volume: SSID, serial number,
channel connection address, and CU number.

SEC

Re-establish a split or suspended volume pair. This
parameter is required.

RESYNC

MODE

Copy speed is medium, regardless what is specified
for the PACE parameter.

For a Resync request on all pairs in a consistency
group, do not use the MSGREQ function. Using the
MSGREQ function ends the job abnormally and
