The following is a list of requirements and restrictions:

BCM is required to run this and all operations on the pairs in the consistency group. If you
have performed pair operations using the RWC after creating pairs using BCM, you cannot
use At-Time Split.

With PPRC, you can split the pairs in a consistency group but not at a specified time. For more
information about splitting pairs, see

“Pair operations using PPRC” (page 70)

.

Before using At-Time Split a second time, verify that status of all the pairs in the same consistency
group is changed to the status which is specified by the YKEWAIT command.

NOTE:

The pairs in the BCM copy group are required to be in a BC Z consistency group

to use At-Time Split.

For detailed information about monitoring status changes for copy pairs in a specified copy
group using the YKEWAIT command, see the Business Continuity Manager User’s Guide.

You can use At-Time Split when BC Z P-VOLs are shared with Cnt Ac-J Z or Cnt Ac-S Z S-VOLs.
For more information, see

“The At-Time Split for shared volumes” (page 19)

.

The At-Time Split for shared volumes

If you share BC Z S-VOLs in a storage system with Cnt Ac-S Z or Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOLs, you can use
At-Time Split to keep the BC Z T-VOLs consistent. The following illustrate At-Time Split with Cnt Ac-S
Z and with Cnt Ac-J Z.
