10. On the primary site, create a Cnt Ac-S pair between the primary site data volume and the

intermediate site Cnt Ac-J P-VOL, with no data copying.

When this is done, since host operations have not resumed, all three sites have the same data
in their respective volumes.

11. Resume host operations at the primary site. Synchronous copying will resume between the

primary site Cnt Ac-S P-VOL and the intermediate site S-VOL. Cnt Ac-J copying will resume
from intermediate site to remote site.

The system becomes a 2DC configuration again.

Recovery for configurations with Cnt Ac-J/Business Copy

You resume host operations to the remote Continuous Access Journal secondary volume if a disaster
or failure occurs at the primary site where the Cnt Ac-J P-VOL is shared with the Business Copy
(BC) secondary volume. Then you recover the primary site and then resume host operations.

Procedure 38 To recover from failure in a Cnt Ac-J P-VOL/BC S-VOL configuration

1.

Release the BC pair using the pairsplit -S command.

2.

Reverse the copy direction and resync the Cnt Ac-J pair using the horctakeover command.

3.

Reverse the copy direction again on the Cnt Ac-J pair using the horctakeover command.

4.

Delete the Cnt Ac-J pair using the pairsplit -S command.

5.

Create a BC pair from the BC S-VOL to perform copying in the reverse direction. Use the
paircreate command.

6.

Release the BC pair using the pairsplit -S command.

7.

Re-create the original BC pair from the original BC P-VOL to perform copying in the original
direction. Use the paircreate command.

8.

Split the BC pair using the pairsplit -r command.

9.

Recreate the Cnt Ac-J pair using the paircreate command.

The system becomes the original configuration again.
