Planned outage of secondary system, quorum disk
Use the following procedure to perform a planned outage of the secondary storage system and
the quorum disk.
Procedure 27 To power off/on the secondary system, quorum disk:
1.
Using multipath software, vary the non-owner path offline.
2.
On the primary system, split the pair.
3.
On the primary system, make sure that P-VOL status is PSUS.
4.
On the primary system, perform the External Storage Disconnect External Volumes on the
quorum disk.
5.
Power off the secondary system.
6.
Power off the quorum disk. If you are powering-off only the secondary system, skip this step.
7.
Power on the quorum disk. If you are powering-off only the secondary system, skip this step.
8.
Power on the secondary system.
9.
On the primary system, perform the External Storage Reconnect External Volumes command
on the quorum disk.
10. On the primary system, resynchronize the pair.
11. On the primary system, make sure that P-VOL status is PAIR.
12. Using multipath software, vary the non-owner path online.

Procedure 28 To power off/on the secondary system, quorum disk:

On the primary system, split the pair.

On the primary system, make sure that P-VOL status is PSUS.
3.
Stop host I/O.
4.
Using multipath software, vary the non-owner path offline.
5.
Power off the primary system.
6.
Power off the secondary system.
7.
Power off the quorum disk.
8.
Power on the quorum disk.
9.
Power on the secondary system.
10. Power on the primary system.
11. Using multipath software, vary the owner path online
12. Restart host I/O.
13. On the primary system, resynchronize the pair.
14. On the primary system, make sure that P-VOL status is PAIR.
15. Using multipath software, vary the non-owner path online.
