Description

Item

Port - GID – LUN (LDKC number: CU number: LDEV number) of the selected volume. The following
symbols might appear at the end of the LDEV number:

Volume

# (e.g., 00:00:3C #): Indicates the volume is an external volume. For details on external
volumes, see the HP P9000 External Storage for Open and Mainframe Systems User Guide.

X (e.g., 00:00:3C X): Indicates the volume is a Thin Provisioning virtual volume. For details on
virtual volumes, see the HP P9000 Provisioning for Open Systems User Guide.

Disable appears. The S-VOL of this pair will reject the write I/Os while the pair is being split.

S-VOL Write

The default is S-VOL. If you select a P-VOL when splitting a pair, you can specify one of the following
parameters. However, if you select an S-VOL when splitting a pair, this parameter is always S-VOL
and cannot be changed.

Suspend Kind

P-VOL Failure: the P-VOL will reject all write I/O operations from the host while the pair is being
split, regardless of the P-VOL fence level setting. Specify this parameter if you need to maintain
synchronization of the ESAM pair.

S-VOL: the P-VOL will accept all subsequent write I/O operations, and the MCU will keep track
of updates while the pair is being split. Specify this parameter if you need to keep the P-VOL
online while the pair is being split.
