Each knuckle can be rotated to point one of its six faces toward the card being embossed. Each face
presses to a different depth. +3 is the highest pressure setting, and -3 is the lowest pressure setting.
You can read the current depth by looking at the shape carved into the side of the knuckle that faces the
card (see Figure 5-3).

Embossers should have ink marks indicating factory-calibrated positions for the top and bottom knuckle
as shown in Figure 5-4.
