2 SoftMotion concept and overview of the components
SoftMotion allows you to realise motions - from simple single-axis motions to cam
motions and complex motions in several dimensions - in the »PLC Designer« integrated
development environment. Those applications where sequence and process control or
auxiliary functions play a key role alongside the motion functions are ideal for use with
SoftMotion (as opposed to those that are exclusively concerned with motion functions).
SoftMotion should be viewed as a kind of basic toolkit, which you can use to influence
procedures in various ways (even during runtime, should the process allow it) without
having to go to a great deal of effort or having to have in-depth knowledge in order to
realise the desired motions.
The entire program logic is handled in the PLC program and only pure motion information
is processed in the library POUs.
