Single-axis motion control in ST
You can now compile the program without errors, go online and start the program. If you
are monitoring the Drive.ActPosition actual position with a watch list or the sampling
trace, these will show you how the drive is moving towards this position. If you force the
value of p, the axis will move towards the new target position as soon as the last one has
been reached.
Visualisation templates are available for drives in the SM_DriveBasic.lib library to enable
you to view the motion by means of graphics. To use these templates, first go offline,
create a new visualisation, insert a visualisation object and select "LinDrive" from the list
that appears. Then double-click the newly created object and enter the name of the drive
structure (here: Drive) as a replacement under "Visualisation", "Placeholder", "AXISREF".
The visualisation configured in this way will display the position of the drive:
