variables could result in either unresolved global names or
unexpected links to the wrong registers in the network. To avoid these
problems, all linked variables will be unlinked in the destination rack.
You must manually relink the network variables and resolve any
conflicts that might occur in the destination network(s).
Use the following procedure to copy a rack.
Step 1.
Select Copy from the Rack menu to display the Copy
Rack dialog box (see figure 5.16).
Step 2.
Select the source drive, library, and system, section, and
rack. Select OK to continue, or Cancel to return to the
System Configurator without copying the system.
Step 3.
The Modify Destination Rack dialog box is displayed (see
figure 5.17). Enter the following information:
Name Ć The descriptive name (unique within the system)
for a the rack, an alphanumeric string of up to 8 characters
(no spaces, hyphens, or underscores). (R)
Slots Ć select the appropriate rack type. (R)
Location Ć An alphanumeric string of up to 7 characters
that identifies where the rack is physically located. (O)
Engineer Ć The engineer in charge of the rack, an
alphanumeric string of up to 31 characters. (O)
Description Ć A description of the rack, an alphanumeric
string of up to 40 characters. (O)
Step 4.
The New Rack Name dialog box is displayed for each rack
in the new section. Enter a unique name for each rack.
Step 5.
The Copy Rack Status dialog box is displayed while the
selected rack is being copied. You can abort the process
by selecting Abort at any time. When the process is
complete, the section is added into the list of racks in the
System Configurator in alphabetical order.
