Alarm displays
Alarm information can be displayed in:
alarm
log
viewer
alarm
summary
graphic objects and displays
tag
monitor
When alarms are generated, they are recorded in two places: the alarm
log file and the computer’s memory. The alarm log viewer displays the
records in the alarm log file. The alarm summary displays the records
in the computer’s memory.
Alarm log viewer
The alarm log viewer displays the contents of the alarm log file. The
contents of this file depend on how you configured severities in the
Alarm Setup editor. By default, the log file will have a record for each
of the following alarm incidents:
when a tag goes into alarm
when a tag goes out of alarm
when an alarm is acknowledged
when a tag with an alarm is suppressed
when an alarm fault is generated
The viewer can display up to 32,767 records. Set up your project so
only essential alarm information is logged. Alarm logging uses system
resources and can slow overall system performance.
