8.3.5 Reading Chip Card (‘TERRATEST 3000 GPS’ ONLY – no longer available)

To load data from the chip card (the credit card sized media), plug the external chip card reader into the
USB cable port of your PC. After the operating system has successfully recognised the card reader, two
further buttons will appear in the ‘TERRATEST 2.0’ software. Insert the chip card, with the memory chip
facing downwards, into the slot of the chip card reader.

Make sure that software and driver of the chip card reader are correctly installed on your PC; you will
receive the error message ‘NO CARD READER FOUND’ otherwise. In this case, install the software and
driver, which can be found on the software CD in the directory ‘Driver SCR3311’.

Click on the button ‘READ CHIP CARD’. A progress bar will open, indicating the progress of
downloading the test data from the chip card. All test data saved on the chip card will be loaded and
displayed as a test data list, including data record number, date, time, and Evd value in the top left
window. The test data is now ready for processing.

If there is no data stored on the chip card, you will receive the message ‘NO DATA AVAILABLE’, once
reading is complete.

The content of only one folder, one chip card, or the testing computer can be displayed in the test data
list at any one time. If you would like to include several test series in one test data list, save all required
data records in the same folder. Then, load it into the ‘TERRATEST 2.0’ software by clicking on the button
‘LOAD TEST DATA’.

All data can be deleted from the chip card by clicking on the button ‘PREPARE CHIP CARD’.

The bar indicates the progress of downloading the test data from the chip card.
