When I press Fn+F3,1 see the message "Sound Disabled"

Click tlie System icon in the Control Panel. Change the settings under
Dex’ice Manager so that sound is enabled.

My modem doesn’t work

Check that the phone line is plugged into the line jack. See

"Connecting a Phone Line" on page 44 for details.

Check that the phone line is working. You can check the line by
plugging in an ordinary phone and listening for a dial tone.

Check the PowerPanel modem setting. Select Modem On from the
PowerPanel toolbar or menu.

Check that the phone number the program is dialing is correct.

Check that the software you are using is compatible with the Sony
Notebook Computer modem. (All preinstalled programs are
compatible.) Call the software publisher or Sony Online Support.

My microphone doesn't work

If you are using an external microphone, check that the microphone is
plugged into the Microphone connector.

My mouse doesn't work

If you are using an external mouse, check that the mouse is plugged into
the mouse connector. See "Connecting an External Mouse or Keyboard"
on page 59 for details.

My touchpad interprets a single tap as a double-click

Use the Control Panel or Sony Notebook Setup Utility to change the
button assignments in the Mouse Properties dialog box. One of the
buttons is assigned to the double-click action.

My computer does not shut down

Slide the power switch forward and hold for at least four seconds.

My PC card is not working

Make sure the PC card is compatible with Windows 95.
