Using GUI screens

Remote control only

GUI (Graphic User Interface) are icons that appear on the TV screen
that allow you to interact with the unit. GUi screens show information
about the unit and discs. You can perform various operations by
changing the information shown in these screens.

Press [DISPLAY].

The GU! screen appears.

It changes each time you press the button (see below),

Press the cursor buttons [ < ] or [^] to

select an item.

Press the cursor buttons [A] or [V] to

change the setting.

To clear the GUI screen

Press [DISPLAY] until the original display is restored.
Pressing [RETURN] or [CANCEL] also clears the GUI screen.

For your reference

• Some items require different operations to change the contents, so

refer to the GUI icon descriptions (■> pages 27 and 28) for details.

« The GUI screens disappear after performing some operations,

such as changing the title or chapter.

• If the GUI screen is partially cut off or fails to appear, change the

position with the initial settings, “4 On-Screen Messages”

page 54).

Type of GUI screens

Original display (GUI not displayed)

There are 3 different GUi screens.

Disc GUI:

You can change the title or chapter, or change the po­
sition by specifying the time.
You can also switch soundtrack, subtitles and angles.

Unit GUI:

You can start repeat play or mark a position and

recall it.

You can also turn the CINEMA mode on/off,

Shuttle GUI: You can fast forward, go backward or start slow-motion

play.
