Using the timers
Turning the timers on and off
The selected timer comes on at the set time if the [©PLAY/©REC]
indicator is alight. The indicator can be turned on and off by pressing
[©PLAY/0REC].
Checking the tinners
Press [CLOCK/TIMER].
(While the unit is on, press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “0PLAY” or
“©REC".)
The set timer conditions are shown in the following order.
Play timer:
start time finish time ->■ source ^ volume
Record timer:
start time ->■ finish time -»• source
Playing the unit after the timers are set
The unit can be used after the timers are set.
Check the following before turning the unit off again.
If playing tapes or making a recording:
Reset deck selection and tape direction.
If playing disc:
Make sure the desired disc is selected.
• If you turn the unit off and on again while a timer is functioning, the
finish time setting will not be activated.
• If the unit is on, the timer will not function. The unit must be in the
standby mode.
® If AUX is selected as the source, when the timer comes on, the
system turns on and engages AUX as the source. If you want to
playback or record from a connected unit, set the other unit's timer
to the same time. (See the other unit’s instruction manual.)
® The record timer cannot be used with DVDs and Video CDs.
9 The timer cannot be used to start the CD MANAGER or program
play,
Remote contirol only
This timer turns the unit off after a set time.
Press [SHIFT] + [SLEEP] to select the time
(minutes).
Each time you press the button:
SLEEP 30 -- SLEEP 60 ^ SLEEP 90
^ SLEEP OFF ^ SLEEP 120^
To cancel the sleep timer
Press [SHIFT] + [SLEEP] to select “SLEEP OFF’.
To confirm the remaining time
White the timer is functioning
Press [SHIFT] + [SLEEP].
The remaining time is shown for about 5 seconds.
To change the setting
Press [SHIFT] + [SLEEP] to display the remaining time, then press
again to select the required time.
The play and sleep timer or the record and sleep timer can be used
together.
The sleep timer always has priority. Be sure not to overlap timer
settings.
The play and record timer cannot be used with each other.
