Verifying Data

When data is entered which does not match the data captured using Recognition,
Correction and Completion, a data mismatch occurs. The following events occur:

ƒ

An audible beep is produced.

ƒ

The field background becomes dark green (depending on the configuration of
the batch).

ƒ

The original and first Verification key values are displayed above the field for
reference (depending on the configuration of the batch).

At this point, the field data must be re-keyed. Depending on the configuration, the
next value entered must match either.

ƒ

The original value:

ƒ

The first Verification value.

If one of these conditions is met, the new value is accepted as the verified value.
Otherwise the field is cleared and must be keyed again.

Verify Data Mismatch Example

The screen shots below illustrate the sequence of events which occur when a data
mismatch occurs.

In this example, we have a Surname field for which the value ‘MARRIOTTT’ has
been captured either by Recognition or keyed by a Completion user.

This value is incorrect and the actual data on the image is ‘MARRIOTT’. This is the
value entered by the verify-keyer.

Step 1: The field is displayed as normal.
