Hemming

The stitch, which is used for hemming in woven or

knitted fabrics without the stitches being visible on the
right side, has small zig-zag stitches between the larger
ones (blind stitch).

Set the machine by selecting the material at the guide

panel. Then press the stitch selector until the hght under
the s

mibol for blindstitching goes on. The machine will

automatically choose the suitable stitch length and
width, give you directions about presser foot etc.

The hem of skirts and pants made of stretch and non

stretch fabrics can be sewn down with blindstitching,
without the stitches being visible from the right side.
Fold the fabric once and then back again, as illustrated,

and use presser foot D.

Be sure that the fold line of the fabric rides in the

groove under the left side of the presser foot.

When you hem terry cloth, fold a single hem and sew

it down with three-step zig-zag. Although the stitches go
right through to the tight

Other stretch material can also be hemmed with flat-

lock. Fold the hem once, sew from the right side and then
trim.
