Buttonholes

Repeated buttonholes

First sew 3 buttonhole of the length and -width you

require. After this press the finishing button 0

Then you only need to depress the foot control and the

machine will sew a complete buttonhole in one sequ
ence, consisting of as many stitches as the first one. You

can repeat the buttonhole an unlimited number of times,
as long as the settings are not changed.

To achieve identical buttonholes, it is best to sew the

repeated ones at the same speed as the first one. Also
ensure that the fabric is well supported so that the feed

ing will be affected as little as possible by the weight of
the material.

Reinforced buttonholes

It is wise to make buttonholes tighter and more raised

in heavy non-stretch fabrics. This can be done by sewing
once more without the bar tacks. As a rule the stitch
length should be increased by pressing the

-I-

button

under the left digital indicator. Sew the first column to
the required length.

Press the reverse feed button twice and sew the other

column the same length.

Press the reverse feed button twice again and sew the

first column once more.

Press the reverse feed button once and sew the bar

tack and the other column forward.

Finally, press the reverse feed button once more and

sew the other bar tack.

When the bar tack is finished the machine will reduce

speed, fasten off the threads and stop automatically.

When you then lift your foot from the foot control the

machine is ready to start sewing the next buttonhole.
