Flatlock

By pressing the push-button to the right under the

arrow until the light under the symbol for flatlock goes
on, the machine is automatically set for a stitch which is
suitable for sewing overlapping seams, decorative hems,
binding and edges on non-stretch and stretch fabrics.

The elasticity of this stitch is automatically adjusted to

the selected material. If you have selected the stitch only
by pressing the push-button under the arrow, the
machine will always select a stitch that is intended to be
sewn in non-stretch material.

To sew an overlapping seam, lap one piece fabric 1 cm

(3/8") over the other piece and sew flatlock stitch over

the fabric edge on the right side. Trim from the wrong
side or sew another seam from the right side.

You can produce a decorative hem by folding a single

hem on the wrong side and sewing the flatlock from the
right side.

Fasten binding by folding the binding over the edge of

the fabric, slightly wider on the wrong side. Sew over the
edge of the binding on the right side with the flatlock and
trim excess material. Use knit trim or bias binding when
binding curved edges, hke round necks and armholes.

Use the flatlock to sew narrow belts, bands, etc. Fold

the fabric in thirds and sew in the center. Trim excess
material from underneath.
