In addition to the ordinary buttonhole on the control

panel, there are five more types of buttonholes on cas
sette. The upper two are sewn with the same type of

columns as the ordinary buttonhole but with rounded
bar tacks, either at both ends or just at one end. Both
t5T3es may be used in light and medium fabrics. Note that
the bar tack is extended to a certain degree and the
buttonhole must therefore be slightly longer than the
diameter of the button.

The buttonhole in the middle has columns sewn with

reinforced zig-zag, producing a more pronounced
buttonhole that is suitable for coarser fabrics.

These three buttonholes are sewn in the normal way as

described for ordinary buttonholes and can also be auto
matically repeated. See page 29.

The keyhole buttonholes, used in tailoring, are sewn

completely rounded at one end. One of them is finished
with a straight bar tack while the other has a tapered bar
tack.

When sewing a keyhole buttonhole it should be placed

in such a way that the button conceals the rounded end.

This means that you must sew the buttonhole on the

garment, with the front edge away from you. Note here
that the rounded part is extended, so to start sewing the
rounded end, press the reverse feed button H allow
ing sufficient space for this part of the buttonhole to be

formed.
