addition to saving pictures in JPEG format, the camera saves
NEF (RAW) copies without the effects applied.

The camera saves an NEF (RAW) copy in addition to a JPEG
copy to which the effect has been applied.
[ Off ]
The camera saves only a JPEG copy to which the effect has
been applied.
