LocalTalk Interface
A LocalTalk interface is used to print if
n Your host is any member of the Apple Macintosh family. The
instructions in this section explain how to connect a Macintosh to
the QMS1660E Print System.
n
Your host is an IBM PC or compatible microcomputer, worksta-
tion, minicomputer, or mainframe computer that connects through
a print network (such as TOPS or AppleShare) using LocalTalk-
type connectors and boxes.
If you’re connecting to one of these hosts, you may need addi-
tional hardware or software. See your host or network documen-
tation for details specific to your setup.
Optional Interface Assembly Kit
The interface assembly kit includes the following:

An interface card
n
A plastic standoff
n
Interface documentation (for CrownNet network interface cards)
n
Interface software (for CrownNet network interface cards)
The kit may also include additional parts not required for interface
installation on this printer.
Installing an Optional Interface
M WARNING! T urn off the printer and unplug the power cord before
taking the cover off the printer.
