Write-Protect Switch

You can set the write-protect switch so the cartridge is write-enabled. Slide the switch

to reveal the orange indicator to write-enable the tapes. In this position, the tape drive

can write as well as read data. This setting is recommended when inserting cartridges

into the tape library.

You can set the write-protect switch so that the cartridge is read-only (nothing can be

written on the tape). Slide the switch to reveal the “closed lock” symbol. In this

position, the tape drive can only read data from the tape, but cannot write data to it.

Note –

See Quantum documentation regarding the write-protect/write enable setting

for DLTtape S4 tapes.

4. SDLT 320/600 cleaning label
Note: You may use SDLT “CLN + S” cleaning labels for DLT-S4 drives.
