Nexus PRO™ User Guide

2.5.2 Link Aggregate Root Router Mode

The Link Aggregate Mode is used to achieve increased bandwidth, high availability and link
redundancy. Link aggregation is used to optimize port (link) usage by grouping ports (Radio A and
Radio B) together to form a single aggregate link with a higher bandwidth.

The Link Aggregate Mode also provides link redundancy without user intervention if one of the link
fails. However, please note that if one of the links fail, the bandwidth will be reduced as only a single
link is functional.

As we can see from the above figure, both the radios in airHaul

Nexus PRO is configured in Link

Aggregate mode to bridge the distance from Internet backbone to an office building to provide last
mile connectivity. They are able to provide a higher bandwidth, which cannot be achieved using single
radio models.

In this mode, the user needs to ensure that the Remote Device is configured as Link Aggregate
Remote Router/NAT mode.
