Guideline for Training

To introduce a new operator to the printer, use the following steps as
a guideline. Change the steps, as needed, to suit your working
environment and the operator’s level of responsibility.

1. Show the operator this guide and discuss the contents of

Chapter 1, “Setting Up the 4230 Printer.”

(depending on the model installed)

3. The power cord should be unplugged before connecting or

disconnecting the signal cable. See Chapter 1, “Setting Up the
4230 Printer” for the proper sequence.

4. Show the operator how to install the forms device with emphasis

on identifying the type of forms device (F1, F2, F3, or F4). Show
the operator where the procedures are in Chapter 1, “Setting Up
the 4230 Printer” or in IBM 4230 Printer Auto Sheet Feeder
General Information
(depending on the forms device installed).

5. Show the operator how to set the forms device number. Show

the operator where the procedures are in Chapter 1, “Setting Up
the 4230 Printer” or in IBM 4230 Printer Auto Sheet Feeder

(depending on the forms device installed).
