Mounting boss

For threaded process connections (type 51,
52), the mounting boss should be short
enough to allow the transducer end to pro-
trude from the boss. This will prevent if from
interfering with the ultrasonic signals.

Different filling conditions often lead to a vary-
ing product surface orientation. This causes
the useful echo to vary in quality. For this
reason, the transducer should be mounted in
such a way that, even in the empty vessel,
the false echo intensity is as low as possible.
You can view the echo curve on the PC with
the adjustment program VVO (see chapter
"6 Setup/Adjustment with the PC/Sensor
optimisation/Echo curve“).

Material heaps

Large material heaps are usually measured
with several instruments, which can be
mounted on e.g. traverse cranes.
