TS-LS300 Troubleshooting Guide

Transducer Troubleshooting

The transducer is one of the main components of the LS300 Auto-Learn system.
This section is to aid in the proper troubleshooting of the transducer and its wiring.
A loose or broken wire connection, or damaged insulation on a wire, can cause the
transducer to give erratic voltage readings.

Figure 6-1 shows the approximate Transducer Signal
Voltage (DC) seen at the respective line pressure.

All transducers are biased slightly
different. Transducer VDC listings are
only approximates. Verify Line
Pressure by installing a pressure
gauge in the line.

To Measure the Transducer Signal Voltage use a volt
meter and measure at the test pads on the circuit board
labeled JP2 (channel 1), JP4 (channel 2), JP6 (channel
3) or JP8 (channel 4) to Ground. Do not remove covers
to the transducer terminal or the I.S. barrier. The test
pads are located to the right of the Channel Learn/Detect
switches, See Figure 6-2 for test point locations.
Voltages should corespond with pressures listed in
Figure 6-1.

ELECTRICAL DANGER

Checking Transducer Supply and Signal Voltages

is done with power applied to the LS300 Auto-Learn Console. Take care to
probe only the Transducer test points as instructed, as equipment damage or
personal injury could result.

PROBLEM: Incorrect or erratic Transducer Signal Voltages

ELECTRICAL DANGER

Before attempting the following troubleshooting

make sure power has been eliminated before removing any protective
shields.

1. Lock out and tag Power to the LS300 Console. Verify correct wiring connections
at transducer terminal block in the console, and the wires are properly terminated
into the terminal block.
