To expand the system with an intermediate module (expansion by 16 DI/16 DO), proceed as follows:
Drag a further Main/Inside DI16/DO16“ module into the slave Type 8645/MK01 (drag and drop).
The same module types are available as already described for the commissioning of the Profibus ® field bus
module.
Module types
Main/Inside DI16/DO16
Main module/intermediate module: 2 byte inputs , 2 byte outputs
Main/Inside DI8/DO8 Main module/intermediate module: 1 byte inputs , 1 byte outputs
Main/Inside only DI8 Main module/intermediate module: 1 byte inputs
Main/Inside only DO8 Main module/intermediate module: 1 byte outputs
Add-on DI8 Expansion module: 1 byte inputs
Add-on DO8 Expansion module: 1 byte outputs
A main/inside module must be used for each hardware configuration. Empty slots up to 2 bytes IN or 2 bytes
OUT can be filled with the add-on modules.

Through this configuration (with add-on DO8 and DI8) you have the possibility of freely assigning the addres-
ses for the output and input bytes. This is not possible with the main/inside DI16/DO16 module.The second
byte is automatically one address higher than the first byte.
