3.4.7.2 Verify Display Configuration

To determine the number of colors and resolution configuration on your Windows-based PC, navigate to
the Control Panel and click on Display.

Click on the Settings tab to display the following window:

The following Windows configuration options should be used to ensure proper Micro-PWC system opera-
tion:

Color Palette - The minimum number of colors required by the Micro-PWC system software is
256. The recommended number is 65536 or higher (this will prevent unnecessary color re-
mapping when switching between Micro-PWC system application windows and
non-Micro-PWC system application windows).

Font Size - The Small Fonts font size is recommended.

Desktop Area - The minimum and recommended desktop area size is 1024x768 pixels,
although a higher resolution can be used.

3.4.7.3 Verify Configuration of Printer Spool Options

Print spool options must be properly configured so that the Micro-PWC system device manager will not
lock up if there is a problem with the printer. You can configure the print spool options as follows:

For each printer that will be used by the Micro-PWC system print manager, you must configure the print
spool option by specifying the Job Prints While Spooling option.

To verify that this option has been selected, navigate to the Control Panel and select Printers. Then for
each printer to be used by the Micro-PWC system print manager, select the File > Properties menu
sequence, select the Scheduling tab, and then select the Start Printing Immediately option.
