Protecting the environment
Hewlett-Packard Company is committed to providing quality products in an environmentally sound
manner. This product has been designed with several attributes to minimize impacts on our
environment.
Ozone production
This product generates no appreciable ozone gas (O
3
).
Power consumption
Power usage drops significantly while in Sleep mode, which saves natural resources and saves
money without affecting the high performance of this product. This product qualifies for ENERGY
STAR® (Version 3.0), which is a voluntary program to encourage the development of energy-efficient
office products.
ENERGY STAR® and the ENERGY STAR mark are U.S. registered marks. As an ENERGY STAR
partner, Hewlett-Packard Company has determined that this product meets ENERGY STAR

Toner consumption
Economode uses significantly less toner, which might extend the life of the print cartridge.
Paper use
This product’s optional automatic duplex feature and N-up printing (multiple pages printed on one
page) capability can reduce paper usage and the resulting demands on natural resources.
Plastics
Plastic parts over 25 grams are marked according to international standards that enhance the ability
to identify plastics for recycling purposes at the end of the product’s life.
