Insertion Gain (Amplifier) Measurement

The following frequency domain measurement is an example of a Insertion Gain (Ampli-
fier) measurement over a selectable frequency range. Insertion loss measurements, such as
antenna-to-antenna isolation and filter rejection (isolation), follow the same procedures as
below except in Insertion Loss (+6 dBm) measurement mode.

Required Equipment

(2) N (m) to 7/16 (m) Test Port Extension Cables, Anritsu 15NNF50-1.5A or
(2) N (m) to N (f) Test Port Cables and (2) N (m) to 7/16 (m) adaptors (510-92)

7/16 (f) Adapter, Anritsu 510-97

·

Tower Mount Amplifier, Ericsson A57001HQ85 or equivalent

Device-Under-Test Specification

Procedure

Step 1. Press the

ON/OFF

key on the Site Master.

Selecting the Measurement

Step 2. Press the

MODE

soft key.

Step 3. Use the Up/Down Arrow key to scroll to

INSERTION GAIN (–30 dBm)

. Press

the

ENTER

key to select insertion gain measurement mode.

Selecting the Frequency Range

Step 4. Press the

FREQ

soft key.

Step 5. Press the

F1

soft key.

Step 6. Enter 1, 8, 0, 0 using the keypad or Up/Down Arrow key. Press

ENTER

to set

F1 to 1800 MHz.

Step 7. Press the

F2

soft key.

Step 8. Enter 2, 1 ,0, 0 using the keypad or Up/Down Arrow key. Press

ENTER

to set F2

to 2100 MHz.

Performing a Calibration

Step 9. Connect the test port extension cables to the RF In and RF Out test ports as

shown in Figure 4-17.

Step 10. Press the

START CAL

key. Follow the instructions in the message area.
