9. Start by adjusting the EQ of the first input section signal. To listen to

it in isolation, press the PEL switch on the corresponding channel mod
ule.

10. Adjust the other channels. Remember that you can use insert effects

for modules 9-16 (or 17-27). Use this feature for additional equalizing,
or to process only one channel (at a time) using mono noise gates,
compressors, enhancers, or limiters.

11 .Set the balance (the actual 'mix') using the channel faders and MONI/-

AUX 5-6 level controls. Remember to use the PAN controls (both ODD/-

EVEN PAN and L/5, 6/R PAN) to 'position' the signals in the stereo

image.

Note: Steps (8.)-(ll.) should be carried out with the multitrack recorder and

any synchronized instrument running. After all, you will only be able to set the

right balance, etc. if you hear the signals you are working on.

Note: You may wish to take advantage of the ST INSERT I/O feature to process

the stereo master mix using a compressor. Again, these jacks are inserts fitted

with in- and outputs (stereo jack—^ 2 x mono jack).
