0 AFL Switches
These switches allow you to monitor group output signals (i.e. signals being

sent to the multitrack recorder). AFL means After-Fader Listen, so the signal
that you hear when an AFL switch is pressed is sourced after the group fader.

You can monitor group outputs individually or several at a time. The PFL/AFL
indicator at the top of the STEREO module lights up when an'AFL switch is
pressed.

0 Faders
These are the group output master level faders. They control the level of the

signals sent to the GROUP OUT connectors. Use them to set the recording
level (i.e. the level of the signal recorded by the multitrack). The ‘0’ position
indicates the unity gain setting (i.e. no gain, no attenuation). A further lOdB
of gain is available above the ‘0’ position.

Note: From MIC/LINE input to GROUP OUT, each signal is affected hy three level

controls: 1) input module gain control2) input module fader 3) group output fader.

If any one of these controls is set too low, the signal-to-noise (S/N) performance

may he affected, resulting in a noisey recording. If you have set the group output

fader to about ‘0’ but the level shown on the multitrack recorder’s meters seems

low, rather than just raising the group output fader to increase the level, check that
the gain controls and faders of input modules assigned to that group are set correctly.

With incorrect settings, simply raising the group output fader will impair the S/N

performance.
