NASI GORENG SPECIAL

Nasi goring is a typical Indonesian recipe. There are many possibilities to prepare this
dish.

Ingredients:
250 gr-300 gr (9-11oz) rice • 250 gr (9oz) chicken • 200 gr (7oz) pork meat
200 gr (7oz) bacon • 6 shallots • 1 onion • 1 celery cut in small pieces • 2 small cloves
of garlic • 4 tablespoons of arachide or peanut oil • 2 teaspoons of sambal oelek
Some pieces of trasi (special preparation on basis of shrimps- not really necessary)
2 teaspoons of ketchup (Indonesian black sweet sauce) • 1/2 teaspoon of djentan
Salt and pepper • 4 eggs • 4 small gherkins • Krupuk • 4 bananas

Method:
1. The rice should be cooked very dry.
2. Heat the oil in the wok.
3. The onions, which should be cut fine, should be deep-fried, also the whole shallots,

the celery, the garlic, the sambal oelek and the trasi. When the onion and the shallots
are brown the content should be taken out of the oil.

4. Cut the chicken, pork and bacon in small pieces and mix with the oil. Use the wok

turner to move the food around for about 5 minutes.

5. Add some salt, pepper, djentan, and a part of the shallots and onions.
6. Add the rice and stir.
7. Fry the eggs separately.

Serve the nasi and decorate with the eggs and the sliced gherkins.
Place the fried bananas over the nasi goreng.
