Troubleshooting Procedures

To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury or death, disconnect power to unit before servicing, unless testing
requires power.

Single Dryer Troubleshooting Guide

Dryer Will

Not Heat

Open gas supply valves

for gas dryer (Gas Dryer

Only) . Check all circuit
breakers and fuses that

feed electric dryer.

Unplug dryer. Check

wiring and terminations

between control board,

heater relay, heater,

thermostats and motor

Replace the 140
deg. thermostat.

Plug the dryer in. Allow
the thermostats to cool.

Ensure that they are

close to room

temperature.

Does the help

mode show that

the 140 deg.

thermostat is

closed?

If the problem still

exists, replace the

control board.

Unplug the dryer

does the high limit

thermostat show

continuity

Replace high

limit

thermostat.

Unplug dryer. At room

temperature is the

resistance of the heating

element less than 20

ohms? (Electric dryer

only)

Replace the

155 deg.

thermostat

Unplug the dryer .
does the 155 deg.

thermostat show

continuity?

If problem persists,

replace the control

board

Inspect the heater relay

and replace if necessary

(Electric Dryer only)

Check motor centrifugal

switch and replace if

necessary

Replace the

heater coil
