Troubleshooting Procedures

WARNING

To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury or death, disconnect power to unit before servicing, unless testing
requires power.

Stack Dryer Troubleshooting Guide

Dryer Will

Not Heat

Open all gas supply

valves for gas dryer.

Check all circuit

breakers and fuses that

feed electric dryer.

Unplug dryer. Check

wiring and terminations

between control board,

heater relay, heater and

motor

Unplug dryer.

Does thermal fuse

show continuity?

Unplug dryer does

high limit

thermostat show

continuity?

Unplug dryer.

Does 155 deg.

thermostat

show

continuity?

Replace thermal

fuse and

thermostats.

Replace high

limit thermostat.

Check for

exhaust

restrictions.

Replace 155

deg.

thermostat.

Unplug dryer. At

room temperature is
the resistance of the

heating element less

than 20 ohms?

(Electric dryer only)

Replace heating

element.

Check motor

centrifugal switch

and replace if

necessary.

Inspect heater

relay and replace if

necessary.

(electric dryer)

Check wiring and

termination

between

thermistor and

control board

Replace

thermistor.

Disconnect harness

from thermistor check

between 5K and 15K

ohms at room

temperature?

If problem persist,

replace control

board.

of service switch

and lock.

Check wiring and

terminations between

service switch and

control board.

Unplug dryer. Disconnect upper

connector from control board.

Check for conuity between terminal

13 and 14 of connector while

cycling the service switch

If problem persists, replace

control board

Does service

switch open and

close properly?

Replace service

switch
