6.2 External IEEE 1394 Port

6.2.1 Connect with External IEEE 1394 Port

・The IEEE1394 port is used to connect to external devices as a HDD or CD-RW drive

to back-up images.

6.2.2 How to Connect with IEEE 1394 Port

・Connect with external IEEE1394 port as below picture. If there is power on, please

turn off the power then connect with IEEE1394 device.

・Select system/HDD Management at Setup Menu for changing HDD use.
・IEEE1394 HDD is able to use Main or Backup and possible to playback as well.

on HDD Management as
connecting HDD with
external IEEE 1394.

・Please turn off the power when you connect external IEEE1394 with DVR for the

purpose of avoiding damage.

・If you reset DVR, you have to power off the IEEE 1394 device.
・During replay external IEEE1394 HDD, screen could wave because of data

transfer speed. In such a case, please reproduce once again.

About removable HDD / external IEEE1394 equipments
Please consult your nearest JVC dealer about the model of the connectable
removable HDD and connectable IEEE1394 equipments.

■ Extension of IEEE1394 HDD

・IEEE1394 does not have distinction of input and output. IEEE1394HDD can be

extended with the daisy chain.

・IEEE1394 is connectable to 4 devices. However, it is only 1 device (including built-in

HDDs) that it can be set as backup. (→See 5.7.3.1 HDD Information (P.68))
