10.4.1. Fault
Messages
A fault is a failure of a hardware component, a software component, or some
combination of components. A fault typically results in both an event and an alert. Refer
to the User’s Guide for more information.
Some hardware components are customer-replaceable units (CRU), and some are
field-replaceable units (FRU); refer to
Section 11 Removing and Replacing CRUs
. If
faults occur in CRUs or FRUs, the LED above the LCD turns amber and a message
appears on the fourth line of the main screen.
Figure 10-5
shows that faults occurred in
two FRUs in the named partition.
Note: The EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor does not distinguish between CRUs and FRUs.
Instead, the term "FRU" appears on the LCD for both CRUs and FRUs.
