TECHNICAL REFERENCE

ENTERING TELEPHONE NUMBERS

When you want to dial a telephone number or store a number as a Quick Dial key
or Speed Dial, type it into the machine using the ten keypad on the operation
panel.

ENTERING NAMES AND LABELS

When

ABC

is displayed, you can use Quick Dial keys 01 to 09 to enter letters.

Press a Quick Dial key and use the

j

and

k

keys to move through the alphabet to

find the letter you want or press the same Quick Dial key continuously.

To enter this character : Press the Yes key.

To enter a blank space, symbol or punctuation mark : Press the Quick Dial 09
key continuously until you see the symbol or punctuation mark that you need.

To delete a character at the cursor : Move the cursor to the character that you
wish to delete, then press the Clear key.

To insert a character: Move the cursor to the insert position, then input the new
character. The new character is inserted at the cursor position.

If you press the

j

and

k

keys after pressing the Quick Dial, you may search

through the alphabet.

1. If you want to store a letter, press the

Quick Dial key for the letter.
Example: if you want to store K, press
Quick Dial key 04, this will display the
letter J.

2. Either:

RTI ABC/j /k

K

Press the same Quick Dial key un-
til the the letter you need appears.
Now the letter K is displayed.

Press the

j

and

k

keys to scroll

through the alphabet until you find
the letter you need. Now the letter
K is displayed.

3. Press the Yes key to store the letter K.
